Spring/New Life/Happy Easter
We hope that you all had a very blessed Easter Season with loved ones.  As we continue to rejoice the Resurrection of Christ, let us be strengthened in faith and love by the promise that comes with renewal and new life.  Spring is here and we are seeing signs and symbols of rebirth.  Hopefully the warm weather is just around the corner.

Just a reminder that the March Student of the Month will take place this Friday, April 5th at 12:45 p.m.  We hope to see you there.

Just a reminder that staff and students are asked to continue to support the pop tab campaign by collecting and bringing pop tabs to school.  The class that brings in the most pop tabs will win an ice-cream party. The winning class will be announced at the end of May, at a school assembly.

Let's Do Our Part
April 22, 2013 is Earth Day, which is an annual environmental event, celebrated throughout the world. Over 1 billion people in 170 countries will join in the celebrations.  On Earth Day we will do our part as a school community and have a spring clean up.  Throughout the month of April we will strive to have Waste-less Lunches by encouraging students to bring a garbage-less lunch.  Our goal will be to reduce our waste as much as possible.  All students will have the opportunity to fill their name in for a draw.  Please consider using a re-usable bottle rather than juice boxes.  Pack sandwiches and snacks in small  plastic containers that can be washed and used again.  Pack a re-usable fork or spoon that can be taken home and washed rather than a disposable plastic one that is thrown away.  Send an orange, apple or banana as they come in their own biodegradable wrapper.

April '13 - Dental Health Month

Teach your children about the importance of taking care of their teeth. Until the age of 8 or 9, you may need to watch their routine to make sure they're brushing twice a day and flossing at least once a day. If your children are young and have a hard time using a brush, try to help them at least once a day to make sure that all areas have been brushed and flossed. Stress the importance of brushing before bed and never allow children to share their toothbrush. For more information visit our website at www.wechealthunit.org.

Parent Survey (Children of Ages Birth to 12)

The Windsor-Essex County Children and Youth Planning Committee have a vision that "In Windsor-Essex County all children, youth and their families have easy access to a variety of services through multiple entry points that support a healthy/positive outcome". ~In order to develop a plan that supports our community vision for an integrated system of child and family services, we must have input from families regarding their current experience with services for their child/youth and their input into how the system can be enhanced/improved. We have provided a link in which the survey can be completed on-line and a PDF version that can be printed and provided to families (please see attached). ~The last day for survey completion will be Monday April 15th. The survey is provided in both French and English. The on line version of the survey will also be posted on our Board website.
